Nitrous Oxide (N2O) is also known as laughing gas, nitrous, sweet air, protoxide of nitrogen, hyponitrous oxide.The IUPAC name of it is “ Dinitrogen Monoxide ''. Laughing gas is a chemical compound formed by 2 nitrogens and 1 oxygen which is colorless, odorless, non-flammable, with a slight metallic scent and taste. It is usually used in surgery, dentistry or some medical uses. It is estimated that human activity, primarily agriculture and industry are the result of 30% N2O in the atmosphere. So,

Ans:
Laughing gas can create a feeling of Euphoria.It helps to relax you, leave the calm, less aware of any fear or anxiety. It works for its anaesthetic and pain reducing
effects. Laughing gas functions as a mild sedative. N2O is sometimes used in
complex dental procedures such as drilling, surgery etc. Nitrous oxide just triggers the release of dopamine molecules in the body though some mechanisms. [ We will know more detail about dopamine and the reward system ]. According to the World Health Organization's essential medicines list, N2O (Nitrous Oxide) is the safest and most effective medicine needed in a health system.
Normally, N2O is safe but like other drugs it may have some potential side effects. Now, we will see what they are!
2.What are the side effects of using Nitrous Oxide?
Ans:
Nitrous Oxide can be both addictive or not. It has both advantages and some side effects. After inhaling Nitrous Oxide it can cause sound distortion and
hallucination. With this, very common side effects are:
Nausea
Dizziness
Vomiting
Shivering
Fatigue
Sweeting (excessive)
Headache
And also look at signs and symptoms of an allergic reactions like :
Difficulty breathing
Fever
Wheezing
Chills
Hives
Get immediate medical help once you feel this. You might not be able to use Nitrous Oxide if you are in the first trimester of pregnancy or having some respiratory illness. Or even if you have the history of mental health history and substance use disorders, so you might not be able to receive N2O.
N:B: It’s mostly safe for using. But, If you feel those signs [above shown], you need to get immediate medical help from Doctor. And don’t use it for the long term. See if it doesn't become addictive.
3.Now the main question : Does it really make you laugh?
Ans:
Since it works for creating a feeling of Euphoria, it may make you laugh easier but not like that you watch in the movies. Generally, due to the Euphoric effects of inhaling N2O that’s why it is usually called “Laughing Gas”. It doesn’t create extreme laughing as you think. You can easily control yourself with everything, but it does cause extreme dizziness.
