I'll begin this humorous take by spelling out exactly what my taxes are this year compared to 2003, sound fun?
2003 - Home sold for $73,000.00 - Tax Bill - $901

The Math
- Dollar Increase: $2,599.00
- Percentage Increase: 288.46%
You'd figure we'd have the best everything right? Public water, perfect roads, advanced summer schools, advanced normal schools, the best universities, bustling businesses, young people moving from all over the world to start families here. No, we each have individual wells with high iron, roads policed excessively by the people taxing you, one meager McHenry county college, businesses raising prices constantly due to inflation and tax, and hardly any happy young families, to boot the fire departments putting you in hospitals because the McHenry County tax dispatcher said so.
You walk the neighborhood and you are the only one with spare time to exercise because McHenry County Treasurer knows how to exercise better than you. You look at every car passing by and they are smoking, furious, on their way to work on a beat up car in a car dealership, on the way in their beat up car.
USA was founded on low taxation, private property rights, pursuit of happiness principles, I could go on. But we have collapsed, even in one of the most beautiful counties in the State of Illinois. Who is to blame? Not the residents, never had one problem with my neighbors, actually they did have a problem, they were foreclosed on. After a divorce, a huge breakup, in my home base of WonderTucky.
And my personal story?
I can not even use the Post Office across the street because she thinks I'm angry at her. Also, kidnapped by the fire department. The photo in the cover story is another hilarious episode, I can not even fix major FLOODING on 3 properties because we need a building permit. Furthermore, the problem was caused by improper driveway construction in the first place.
