Everything that exists has a structure. A structure is an arrangement of and relations between the parts or elements of something complex. In biology, a key idea is that structure determines function. In other words, the way and manner in which something is arranged  affect its role within an organism significantly.

Everything in the world, both living and non-living things has a structure that makes them work. There is a structure that keeps the universe in place. Plants and animals possess structure, even, air and water have a molecular structure.

The human body has a structure, it's known as the skeleton. A skeleton is the framework of a body. It is a structure that enables one to stand, bend, run, jump and not fall because it has been built solid. More so, everything that must exist, thrive and prosper on the face of the earth must have a unique structure that will enable it to do so.

In the field of Structural engineering, structures exist in various forms which include; Frame, shell, solid (mass) and liquid (fluid).

We know how devastating the results of structural failure ina building can be. As such, structural members of a building must be adequately catered for during construction in order to prevent a future collapse.

Its mobile network services, the likes of Globacom, MTN, Airtel, etc. Have you ever wondered how it was made possible that there are no two users who have the same address? Have you ever wondered how it was made possible that you have been topping up your device(s) for a couple of years and had never come across one or more top up card(s) sharing the same pin? How was the telecommunication industry able to do that? I mean, it sells to millions of users everyday yet, an individual can't manage to manipulate or even fake a single recharge pin made from the combination of 10 digits (0-9). How was this achieved many years ago and is still valid today? Proper structure!

Components of Mobile Network

The mobile network is structured in such a way that individual components perform to complement another, all of which are integrated into one. These components are divided into a number of blocks, some of which are discussed below:

RAN (Radio Access Network): Mobile phones or data devices are connected to the wireless network by means of RAN. Users can gain  access to different services offered by the  Network Operator in the core network.

Transmission: this provides the backbone on which all other blocks connect to each other.

Core Network: this is the heart of the Network. All data is stored here and charging/billing takes place here. Each component of the core network has a specific thing to do. Some of these components include; Mobile Switching Center (MSC), Authentication, Authorization, Accounting server (AAA), Gateway GPRS Support Node (GGSN), Serving GPRS Support Node (SGSN), Evolved Packet Core (ePC), etc.

Every organization has a structure called an organizational structure. This tells how certain activities are directed towards the achievement of organizational goals. Structures peculiar to an organization include:

Entrepreneurial structure: This structure is found in small companies during the early stages of their formation.

Functional Structures: these are usually the initial formal structures an entrepreneur introduces into his/her business, which aids to improve the entrepreneurial structures.

Divisional Structures: these are often a progression from functional structures.

Matrix structure: this combines the benefits of Decentralization with those of coordination.

In the world, today there are lots of failed enterprises and organizations as most individuals do embark on a venture without first considering a proper structure that will both sustain and improve its quality of service and delivery, over the succeeding years. Most enterprises had crumbled owing to this. Any organization, church, movement, or business that will rule the world and span from generation to generation must have a solid structure that can stand the test of time.

Building an adequate structure could be expensive and time consuming. Lots of resources including human, mental, financial and material resources may be involved. Structure and function are in a dynamic relationship. Thus, it can be deduced that a well-built structure will enable a long-lasting and optimum functioning of a body, system or organization.
